anonymous # 1: Didn't you know that Endless Saga already existed?

stevil evil: Definitely, definitely. I think Double Fine should follow-up Brutal Legend with that.

Bards Tale IV should be on the list. I worked as a contractor for EA doing design work on it back in the very early 90s.

#$%^ $%#@$ %$#@, I was really hoping for a Freelancer sequel. I don't actually run things here, but, I have an understanding with those who do.

Console oriented list.

There are a whole lot more if cancelled PC projects are listed.

Darn it freelancer 2? that would be alright if they implemented LIVE to it...

You're missing a developer for AI. I won't state who it is, but they're missing.

omg ONI 2! *cry*

Dude, she has the developer for the A.I. game up there. I know someone who worked on it and that is indeed correct.

Hmm. Gametap's writeup for Project: Snowblind says that the game was originally intended to be a Deus Ex sequel, but ended up being removed from that franchise and universe. So were there two Deus Ex 3s in the works at one time, or do GT have their info wrong?

zach, Clan Wars was the second attempt at Deus Ex 3.

Some additions for the curious, these were all games which were under production or reached at least playable prototype.

Voidstar (Bullfrog, PC, 1997). Space combat game. Similar to the subesquent Homeworld.

Indestructibles (Bullfrog, PC, 1998). Superhero action/platformer. GTA style city, way ahead of it's time.

Populus 4: Genesis (Bullfrog, PC, 1999). Back to the strategy/sim genre with deformable terrain in full 3d.

Syndicate (Bullfrog, PS2, 2000). 3rd person Action/Adventure take on the world of Syndicate.

You can thank the insightful Don Mattrick for making those none of those came out...

Dungeon Keeper 3 was another for the PC by Bullfrog that you missed (referring to the poster of the PC Bullfrog canceled games) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dungeon_Keeper_3

Vectorman for ps2.
Was in development for about a year by Pseudo Interactive. Showed at E3 and was cancelled abrubtly afterwards.

Also Golden Axe had the same situation. Not sure who was developing it though.

awww.....Freelancer2... I wish they would end it =((((

I wouldn't say Surfer Girl "missed" anything. I'm aware of most projects you people mentioned here, whereas I knew about only three titles from those listed in the blog entry (Sheldon Pacotti admitted the existence of a prequel DX3 in an obscure interview, Jim Murray has The Thing 2 concept art on his site and I'm sure I've heard about Oni 2 before). After all, it's called '40 canceled games YOU NEVER KNEW EXISTED unless you worked on them'.

As for the Project: Snowblind debacle - it was, to my knowledge, never meant to be a proper Deus Ex sequel, more of a spin-off.
